Renowned Indian actor and director Rajiv Kapoor, the youngest son of the famous Raj Kapoor, died Tuesday in Mumbai at the age of 58. According to the website of The Times of India, the cause of death was a heart attack.
Rajiv Kapoor, called Chimpu in his family, comes from India’s famous Kapoor film dynasty. He is the son of the legendary actor and director Raja Kapoor, the brother of Bollywood stars Rishi Kapoor and Randhir Kapoor. His uncles were also Bollywood film stars Shammi and Shashi Kapoor.
Chimpu started starring in his father’s films. Soviet, and then the Russian audience Rajiv Kapoor is familiar from the films “Heaven” (Aasmaan, 1984), Zabardast (“The Mighty”, 1985) and others.
