A meeting of the political advisors of the Normandy format leaders is scheduled for Friday, January 22, a source in the Russian presidential administration told Interfax.
“The meeting of the political advisers of the Normandy format will be held in the format of videoconferencing on January 22,” the source said.
The Normandy quartet to resolve the situation in Donbas includes Germany, Russia, Ukraine, and France.
The last time the political advisors of the Normandy format leaders met was on 12 January. As previously reported to journalists at the Russian embassy in Germany, the subject of the meeting was to discuss the implementation of the results of the Paris summit of 2019 in terms of the political settlement of the conflict.
According to Dmitry Kozak, deputy head of the Russian presidential administration, no final solutions could be found at the talks then. However, he said, the negotiators “agreed to prepare new principles and approaches to forming a road map of the Trilateral Contact Group for a comprehensive settlement of the conflict”.
