Merkel announces coronavirus vaccine

Coronavirus vaccines to be developed in the EU will be available worldwide. This was stated by German Chancellor Angela Merkel. The statement is posted on the German government website.
“The coronavirus pandemic can only be fought with universal effort because the disease is spread all over the world,” said Chancellor Frau.

It is about “how we develop vaccines, provide medicines and good diagnostic opportunities for all people around the world,” Merkel added.
She said that on May 4, Germany will participate in an international donor video conference organized by the European Commission.
The development of the vaccine requires 7.5 billion euros. According to Merkel, Germany will assume this responsibility and make a significant financial contribution. The country intends to collaborate with WHO, which “plays a critical role in this matter.”
