More than 140 people with coronavirus died in Iran in 24 hours, a spokeswoman for the country’s health ministry, Sima Sadat Lari, said.
The last time Iran recorded more than 140 victims in early April.
On the air of the IRINN TV channel, she noted that over the past day, 2489 new cases of coronavirus infection were detected, 144 people died.
The total number of people infected since February 19, when the authorities first reported COVID-19, reached 222,669, the victims – 10,508. At the same time, at least 183,310 people have recovered.
In Iran, for two weeks now, with the exception of one day, more than 100 people die per day: on June 14, for the first time in more than two months, Iran recorded more than 100 deaths of patients with coronavirus, before that a three-digit figure for the day was last recorded on April 13.
