NATO is preparing for a second wave with ovid in the fall

The Alliance wants to be better prepared for a new outbreak of the virus, and be able to provide more effective support to affected NATO partners.

The North Atlantic Alliance fears a second wave of coronavirus this fall and is developing an action plan for this case, Spiegel reports.

According to the German newspaper, the ambassadors of NATO countries last week held a closed meeting with Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg, at which it was decided to immediately begin preparing a plan of action.

The Alliance wants to be better prepared for a new outbreak of the virus, and be able to provide more effective support to affected NATO partners.

The operation plan should be developed under the auspices of US General Todd Walters. NATO diplomats say the plan may be adopted at a meeting of defense Ministers in June.

The publication notes that at a secret meeting, Stoltenberg said that a more coordinated response to the second wave of coronavirus will be a litmus test for trust and cohesion in the Alliance.

According to reports, the Secretary-General has also proposed General purchases of personal protective equipment and medicines through NATO’s own support and procurement Agency.
