Negotiations between Presidents of Russia and Belarus Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko have started, the press secretary of the Russian leader Dmitry Peskov told RIA Novosti.
The meeting began in the Sochi residence of the Russian head of state. Earlier Peskov noted that the communication of the two leaders will begin at about 14.00 Moscow time and will last “as long as it is necessary”.
On Monday morning, radio Sputnik reported that the flight of the President of Belarus landed in Sochi.
The parties are expected to discuss the main issues of bilateral relations development, strategic partnership, and alliance during the talks.
The presidents may pay special attention to the prospects of integration within the Union State and significant projects in trade, economic, energy, and cultural and humanitarian fields.
There are no plans to sign joint documents following the meeting and press conference.
