South Korea has confirmed the first case of infection with a new type of coronavirus, an outbreak of which has previously engulfed a city in China. This was announced at the Korea Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Reuters reports.

The virus was found in a 35-year-old woman who came from the Chinese city of Wuhan, where the new virus began to spread. She became ill at Incheon airport, with fever, breathing problems and other characteristic symptoms.

She was taken to a local hospital and isolated.
