One of the North Korean poachers who attacked Russian border guards has died. This is reported by TASS with reference to the head of the investigation of the Russian Federal Security Service’s Border Directorate on the Primorsky region Vladimir Krasnov.
A security official said six North Koreans were wounded. “Afterwards one of them died, to our regret,” Krasnov said.
He also explained that fierce resistance to Russian law enforcement was due to the subsequent confiscation of the ship, which belongs to the state in North Korea, which would automatically entail serious responsibility at home.
On September 17, the FSB of Russia reported a clash between border guards and a crew of poachers from the DPRK: as a result of the attack of Koreans, three Russian soldiers were wounded of varying degrees of severity. The Russian Foreign Ministry said that in connection with the incident they will call a temporary charge d’affaires of the DPRK in the country.
An inspection vessel of the FSB border control on the Seaside region found in the Sea of Japan two schooners and 11 motorboats engaged in illegal fishing. It is reported that the crew of both ships was detained: one of them was 45 people, the other – 21.
