NYT: AstraZeneca Vaccine Stopped in USA

A plant in Baltimore in the United States has stopped production of the AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine, the New York Times writes, citing senior sources.
Earlier, a biotech company Emergent BioSolutions accidentally mixed ingredients for two vaccines – AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson. As a result, 15 million doses were spoiled.
According to the newspaper, now the plant will produce only one-component vaccine, Johnson & Johnson. AstraZeneca, in turn, said it would discuss with the US authorities an alternative production option for their drug.
Earlier, a number of European countries suspended the use of the AstraZeneca vaccine due to reports of thromboembolic complications in vaccinated people. The incidents were investigated by the European Medicines Agency (EMA).
