The New York Times, citing US administration documents, said the authorities did not rule out a situation of doubling coronavirus deaths – up to 3 thousand a day. US President Donald Trump embarrassed to justify himself after the release of the declassified report, recalling that much has been done to curb the spread of coronavirus in America.
Earlier, the American newspaper The New York Times reported that experts at the White House are studying models for calculating the increase in deaths and infection with COVID-19. And, according to their data, supposedly, the increase in infectiousness can grow ten times, and mortality will even double by two.
The media reports about this forecast with reference to an internal document in the US administration. According to this report, by the beginning of June, the number of deaths with confirmed coronavirus may increase from 1,750 to 3,000 people per day, and those infected – from 25 thousand to 200 thousand per day.
US President Donald Trump after the declassified report appeared awkwardly justified himself, recalling that much has been done to curb the spread of coronavirus in America. The head of the White House noted that they say, this document does not take into account the measures taken to minimize the impact of COVID-19.
“But we do a lot about deterrence,” Trump also added in an interview with reporters.
By the way, after the report published in the media, the Deputy Press Secretary of the White House, Judd Deere, categorically denied the information about these forecasts.
