Part of state aid to German business could have gone to Islamists

In Germany, an investigation is underway whether part of the money that the government allocated to support business due to Covid-19 could end up with the Islamists. This is reported by Topnews, citing sources in Germany.

In Germany, the state security service and the prosecutor’s office have opened more than a hundred cases involving 60 people. The total damage is about 1 million euros. During the searches, 250 thousand euros were seized.

“In some cases, there are suspicions of direct financing of terrorism,” the German newspaper writes. It cites the example that in three cases, government money could be directly sent to militants in the Middle East.

According to DW, in 2020, German police counted more than 600 Islamist agitators in Germany.
