Polish Armed Forces do not conduct provocative activities in the Baltic Sea

The Polish Armed Forces do not conduct provocative activities in the Baltic Sea, stated the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces.
Earlier, the Nord Stream 2 pipeline construction operator Nord Stream 2 AG stated that there was an increased activity of foreign ships and military aircraft in the Nord Stream 2 pipeline construction area. The company sees this activity as provocative and a threat to the completion of the project.

According to Nord Stream 2 AG, on March 29, 2021, a Polish Navy warship (tactical number 823) carried out circular maneuvers around the Fortuna pipe-laying barge. Besides, the Polish PZL-Mielec M-28B1 Rbi anti-submarine aircraft regularly performs low altitude and close distance overflights of the working area near the pipe-laying barge.

“The Polish Navy does not conduct any provocative activities and carries out its tasks in accordance with international law,” the Operational Command said in a post on Twitter.
At the same time, the Polish military acknowledged that “M-28B aircraft regularly conduct patrol and reconnaissance flights in the Baltic Sea area.”
