The U.S. Secretary of State and the special representative for Ukraine were summoned for questioning because of the situation with Trump and Zelinsky.

The U.S. House of Representatives has summoned Secretary of State Mike Pompeo for questioning because of a scandal with the conversation between President Donald Trump and the leader of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, CNN reports.

Kurt Volker, the U.S. State Department’s special representative for Ukraine, was also summoned for questioning.

The testimony is due to take place between October 2 and 10, while Congress will be on a two-week recess.

Congress also noted that they planned to remove five State Department officials who were mentioned in connection with the investigation.

Earlier it was reported that Volker acted as a mediator in the negotiations of Trump’s lawyer Rudolph Giuliani with Ukrainian officials.

Recall, in the U.S. scandal broke because of the alleged pressure of the U.S. president on the Ukrainian colleague with a demand to investigate the case of the son of former Vice President Joe Biden.
