Pompeo warns Czech Republic of new

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo warned the Czech Republic against cooperation with Russia in the strategic infrastructure of the country, whose significant participation in projects in the Eastern European country, according to the American diplomat, could undermine the independence of the republic, RIA Novosti reported.
During the talks with Czech Prime Minister Andrei Babis, the U.S. Secretary of State recalled that the American company Westinghouse is one of the candidates for participation in the tender for the construction of a new power unit at the “Dukanov” nuclear power plant, located in the southeast of the country.
The U.S. is ready, he said, to cooperate with Prague in the supply of other types of energy raw materials.
“Some countries, in particular Russia, could use strategic infrastructure to try to influence the situation in the Czech Republic, undermine its independence. We offer your country our technologies and our cooperation – in the development of the atom, in gas, and in mobile networks. It depends on you which partners you choose,” Pompeo was quoted as saying by the agency.
Recall, the application for participation in the tender for the construction of a new power unit at the nuclear power plant “Dukovanov” was also submitted by the company “Rosatom”.
