The motorcade of the President of Belarus arrived at the Government House on Independence Square in Minsk, where a rally in support of Alexander Lukashenko was announced. At the same time, according to media reports, there was no presidential standard on the limousine.
Meanwhile, active preparations for the rally are continuing on the square, bio toilets are being installed, sound equipment is being tested. The square has prepared supplies of drinking water, which is distributed free of charge.
As reported by the media, the Independence Square itself is cordoned off, metal barriers are installed. Traffic in the area is limited. Vehicles are diverted to the detour. The nearest metro station “Lenin Square” is closed to the entrance and exit. Reinforced police units are on duty at the scene. The security forces carefully inspect all arriving. The number of participants reaches several thousand.
