Putin and trump exchanged congratulations on Victory Day

Russian President Vladimir Putin held talks with American counterpart Donald Trump. During the conversation, the parties exchanged congratulations on the 75th anniversary of the victory over Nazism. This was stated in a message published on the Kremlin’s website on May 7. “The historical significance of the allied relations that connected our peoples during the Second World War and made it possible to defeat a common enemy is emphasized,” the message says.

Following these traditions, Moscow and Washington can achieve a lot in solving such modern problems as ensuring strategic security, combating terrorism, resolving regional conflicts, or countering the epidemic, the Kremlin press service notes.

In addition, the heads of state discussed the situation associated with the coronavirus pandemic. The parties gave a positive assessment to bilateral cooperation in this matter and agreed to further increase cooperation.

In particular, Trump suggested Putin deliver a batch of medical equipment to Russia.

Earlier Thursday, Putin and Kazakh President Kassym Zhomart-Tokaev exchanged congratulations on the 75th anniversary of victory in World War II.
