Russian President Vladimir Putin held telephone talks with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammad bin Salman, the Kremlin press service reported.
During the conversation, the parties discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation.
“Particular attention is paid to the prospects for interaction on global climate change and environmental protection, including green energy,” the message says.
In particular, the Saudi prince told the Russian leader about the environmental initiatives of Riyadh aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the Middle East region, landscaping areas, and increasing the share of renewable energy sources.
The head of Russia, in turn, noted the relevance of such initiatives and spoke about the efforts being made by the Russian authorities in the environmental sphere.
Earlier it became known that Russia plans to sign an agreement on military cooperation with Saudi Arabia. The Russian government ordered the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to hold negotiations with Riyadh, the result of which should be the signing of an agreement.
