At least one person was killed and six others were wounded in a rocket attack that hit the airport area of Erbil, the capital of Iraqi Kurdistan, where the U.S. military base is located.
Col. Wayne Marotto, an official spokesman for the U.S.-led international anti-terrorist coalition, said on his Twitter page Tuesday.
“One civilian serviceman was killed, five civilian servicemen were wounded, and another U.S. Armed Forces soldier was injured,” Marotto wrote. Other details have not yet been released.
The Erbil airport area was hit by a rocket attack on the evening of February 15. At least three rockets were fired, Al Arabiya TV reported.
