The first flight of the Russian returnable stage of the Krylo-SV launch vehicle in subsonic mode is scheduled for the end of 2021, said today, September 29, CEO of the Foundation for Advanced Studies (FPI) Andrey Grigoriev.
“The works are going on in a planned manner, now a new Design Office for this project is being created. The external appearance of the product is being developed. The first flights in subsonic mode are scheduled for the end of next year,” TASS quotes him as saying.
Recall: the advance design of the return stage “Wing-SV” was prepared and protected in the FPI May 29, 2019. The design was developed by the Myasishchev Design Bureau. The magazine of the United Aircraft Corporation “Horizon” specified that after the launch of the rocket at a given altitude, the project involves opening the wing and switching on the jet engine. This will allow returning the first stage.
