The Russian MiG-31 took to the skies over the Barents Sea for the third day in a row to intercept a base patrol aircraft of the Norwegian Air Force’s R-3S Orion. This is reported by the National Center for Defense Management (NCSO) of Russia
After the Norwegian aircraft’s reversal from the border, the Russian fighter returned to the airfield. There was no violation of the Russian border.
The Norwegian aircraft were also intercepted by the Russian side on Thursday, September 3, and Friday, September 4.
On August 30, a video of the interception of a U.S. strategic bomber by Russian fighter jets appeared on the network. It was published by the U.S. Department of Defense’s Visual Information Distribution Service. Two Su-27 fighter jets in the skies over the Black Sea approached the American B-52H bomber to identify it and prevent a violation of the state border.
