The Singapore-flagged container ship Maersk Cardiff was attacked by unknown assailants off the coast of Nigeria, presumably twice, on the evening of January 13 and the night of January 14, Maritime Bulletin reports.
The attacks took place southwest of Port Harcourt, Nigeria. Presumably, during the second attack, the attackers could have boarded the ship.
The container ship is said to be sailing from Tema, Ghana, with an unknown port of destination. The nationality of those on board the container ship is also not reported.
