The Ministry of Defense of South Ossetia, on behalf of the President of South Ossetia, sent a letter to the Russian Ministry of Defense with a request to send a military field hospital to the republic.

There is an outbreak of new coronavirus infection in the republic, the letter says, in this regard, the head of the Ministry of Defense Ibrahim Gasseev asks to deploy a 150-bed hospital in the republic with the secondment of specialized specialists and provision of appropriate medical equipment.

The Defense Ministry also requested a bio-laboratory of the RFB defense troops to conduct PCR analysis and disinfection in military units and social facilities.

As EADaily reported, the Russian Defense Ministry had previously requested assistance from Abkhazia, where there had also been a sharp increase in the number of Covid-19 diseases. The Russian military made a short march to the republic, deployed a hospital in Sukhumi, and has already begun to receive patients.
