The U.S. authorities will conduct an environmental impact assessment of the SpaceX cosmodrome in Texas, reported the Federal Civil Aviation Administration (FAA).
The SpaceX Company informed about its intention to launch super-heavy missiles from its Boca Chica, Texas.
The FAA has decided that this will require additional licenses and environmental expertise.
“In order to obtain licenses, SpaceX must, in addition to the environmental review, complete the safety review and develop license application agreements,” the FAA said in a statement.
It is not clear from the statement whether these measures will delay any launches.
