The Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi called the current President Donald Trump a “threat to the nation” and called for his resignation.
She made this statement during a session of the House on the issue of impeachment of the head of state, broadcast by CNBC.
“He (Trump) needs to go. He is a clear and present danger to the nation that we all love,” the speaker stressed.
On January 6, supporters of incumbent U.S. President Donald Trump stormed the building of the U.S. Congress, interrupting the session at which the parliament was to approve the results of the past election.
Five people were killed as a result of the incident. After the riots in Washington, Jerry Nadler, head of the House Judiciary Committee, proposed to impeach Trump in a simplified procedure.
