The United States is extremely concerned about the arrest of Nick Melia, an MP and head of the United National Movement opposition party founded by former President Mikheil Saakashvili. This was stated by the head of the press service of the State Department, Ned Price, writes TASS.
“The U.S. is deeply concerned about the arrest of opposition leader Nika Melia and other members of the opposition in Georgia,” Price said.
Earlier it was reported that Nika Melia, chairman of the United National Movement party, was detained and law enforcement officers used tear gas during the operation.
