Tens of thousands of people came to the ceremony of farewell to the murdered Iranian general, the number of dead in the stampede is growing.
More than fifty people were killed and more than 200 injured in a stampede during a farewell ceremony with General Kasem Suleimani in Kerman, Iran, ISNA news agency reported on Tuesday, January 7.
“The number of people killed in this incident exceeds 50 people, most of them men,” said Abbas Amiyan, head of the province’s forensic medicine organization.
Suleyman’s funeral was postponed because of the stampede.
Recall, General Suleimani was killed on January 3 during a U.S. operation near Baghdad airport.
Iran stressed that the U.S. actions are tantamount to waging war and promised revenge.
