Swedish fighter of Chechen origin Hamzat Chimaev will fight against Briton Leon Edwards on March 13, MMA Junkie reported, citing the head of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Dana White.
It is noted that the location of the fight is not yet known.
The bout was originally scheduled to take place on December 19, but Edwards tested positive for coronavirus and the flight was canceled. In late December, it was reported that the Swedish fighter had contracted the infection.
On September 20, Chimaev won his third fight of the promotion, knocking out Gerald Mershart in the 17th second of the fight to bring his record to 9-0.
Earlier, it was reported that Russian mixed martial arts fighter Magomed Ismailov faced Chimaev.
