In this regard, Sweden has suspended payments to the company. Sweden is demanding clarification on the number of doses to be paid for after Pfizer billed for six doses in each vial. Initially, it was thought that only five doses could be obtained from each vial.
Now Sweden wants the EC and Pfizer to agree on how many doses can be used from each vial.
“By that time, we told the company that they should hold off on the existing bills,” the country’s chief epidemiologist, Anders Tegnell, said.
Recall that the EC will take control of exports of all COVID-19 vaccines produced in the EU. “An export transparency mechanism will be established as soon as possible,” the EC assured.
