The Syrian military suspected Israeli planes of striking points south of Damascus, claiming that it caused only material damage.
The report of the attack on Tuesday night referred to an unspecified military official.
It said the military aircraft struck south of Damascus shortly before midnight from the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.
The report does not specify the purpose of the strikes or the damage caused.
Earlier the Syrian state news agency SANA reported that Syria’s air defense system has responded to the flying missiles.
Later, SANA and the Syrian TV channel Al-Ehbariya, without going into details, reported that Israeli warplanes struck a village in the province of Al-Quneitra on the outskirts of the Golan Heights and southwest of Damascus.
