The coronavirus for Trump-a pretext for a full-scale war or a guarantee of defeat in the election?

The coronavirus for Trump-a pretext for a full-scale war or a guarantee of defeat in the election?

The coronavirus pandemic, which has spread across all continents, has further intensified the psychological confrontation that has long existed between the US and China, having acquired special strength during the tenure of US President Donald addition to military and political reasons, the confrontation between the United States and China is no less important than the issues of the economy, world trade, and, since last year, customs tariffs. But at the moment, it is no longer just a psychological war that Beijing and Washington have been waging with each other for a long time. Now the problem is that the US administration, led by Donald Trump, is also making a lot of effort to take advantage of the new situation that has arisen in the world due to the pandemic.

As noted by the publication “Al-Sharq”, now the concept of” coronavirus ” has become a keyword too many problems of the modern world. The situation with the coronavirus outbreak, against the background of ongoing us-Chinese tensions over trade issues, and especially the so-called “tariff war”, which was especially pronounced during the presidency of Donald Trump, undoubtedly strengthened the psychological confrontation between these two superpowers.

But the situation is made worse by the fact that Washington is trying to use the current critical situation in the world to its advantage. If the situation in many regions of the world had not been so rapidly complicated by an outbreak of COVID-19 SARS, the Pentagon’s order to “investigate the tense situation” in Iraq and the warnings of senior us military officials to the commander performing a “mission” in this Middle Eastern country would hardly have been so widely discussed in the world media.

The fact is that the Pentagon last week issued a statement that contained a “recommendation” to us military, concentrated in Iraq, to begin preparing a campaign against “groups” that operate in this country and are “under the special protection of Iran.” These groups, according to senior us military leaders and Pentagon officials, “destabilize” the situation in Iraq and pose a special threat to us military there. However, this campaign also has, in addition to the undoubted fight against influence in the region of Iran, another task — to ensure that world prices for oil and gas would begin to rise rapidly, with the beginning of such a war.

If we want to follow the American strategy in the Middle East region, as well as better understand how the United States uses the conflicts occurring in these countries, we can point to the words of General Anthony Zinni, former Chairman of the Central Command of the American armed forces (CENTCOM), who said: “If America loves Afghanistan and Iraq, it will inevitably make Iran the object of its love.” But of course, this phrase is not really about love. It means that if the Americans, for example, were able to use the existing tensions in Iraq and Afghanistan by 50%, they will be able to benefit by 80% from the tensions that arose in a similar way in Iran.
tensions that arose in a similar way in Iran.

Middle East: destabilization continues

This raises the question: in view of the global danger that now engulfs, without exaggeration, all of humanity, who benefits from a full-scale war, and who exactly are these people? As many observers and analysts on international relations now believe, in world politics, and, above all, in the American administration, the “war party” is represented by three people: us President Donald Trump himself, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and the President’s national security adviser, Robert O’Brien. They are the ones who are ready to start a war, taking advantage of the current global crisis.

According to the New York Time, these three are now “ready to launch a “crusade” against the countries of the Middle East, first of all, against Iran, which is most hindering them here, but also against the numerous Shiite groups supported by it, which have influence in various States, from Iraq to Lebanon. They expect to try to eliminate these groups in the situation created by the coronavirus crisis. After all, at the moment, the government of Iran, the entire apparatus of power of the Islamic Republic, including the notorious “Iranian security forces”, along with the Islamic revolutionary guard Corps, are engaged in fighting the crisis caused by the coronavirus epidemic inside this country.” Well, it’s really hard to disagree with the new York Times editorial board. Iran is now experiencing far greater difficulties than those caused by US sanctions at the time.

However, at the same time, the initiators of the above-mentioned “crusade” seem to forget that in the present conditions, the provocation they are planning will not be just a provocation against Iran. This will be a provocation against the entire international community, which now stands as one for the immediate lifting of us sanctions that remain against Iran. Because now everyone, both friends of Iran, and those who were previously neutral (in relation to Iran) or even opposed this country in some way, consider the continuing American sanctions not just as another “act of inhumane policy” of the United States. They see these sanctions as a means by which Washington wants to keep not only Iran but the entire world, on a short leash.

Perhaps at any other time, the Europeans would not have reacted so unequivocally to the threats of the Americans. But now the issues of global security and the security of all mankind are at stake because everyone is United by one disaster, the name of which is a coronavirus. And now everyone, friends and enemies, Western Europe and Russia, perhaps for the first time since the Second world war, is ready to stand on the side of Iran on the same front. Because the situation with the coronavirus really resembles a world war, the lessons of which humanity seems to have begun to slowly forget.
Because the situation with the coronavirus really

But meanwhile, the American military and commanders themselves, who are located in the middle East and observe the situation directly, and not from cozy offices across the ocean, are just not as inclined as American civilian leaders to unleash a new war in the Middle East. Now, even the head of the Pentagon, Mark Esper, and the Chairman of the joint chiefs of staff, General Mark Milley, is afraid of a new large-scale military conflict.

Noted the same The New York Times, they warn that new military operations in the Middle East will lead to the destabilization of the entire region, the consequences of which are even difficult to predict now. At the same time, they recall that only recently us administration planned to reduce its military presence in the Middle East, and say that they would welcome just such a step, since, according to them, it is much more in line with the current us interests than a new “victorious war” or “execution”, which some in us administration are eager to start against Iran.

China-another front of the war

Recall that at the beginning of this year or just after Christmas, trump in another tweet very highly appreciated the measures that are being taken to combat coronavirus infection in China and even expressed gratitude to his Chinese counterpart. However, on March 16 of this year, Trump himself suddenly started talking about the virus, emphasizing its “Chinese origin”, and began to talk about this problem, using openly racist rhetoric. At the same time, the American media, even those that previously might have focused on the “Chinese origin of the virus” or constantly mentioned the Chinese city of Wuhan along with the name of the infection, now prefer not to participate in the new “game” that Donald trump started and will be satisfied only with the neutral concept of “coronavirus”, but not “Chinese virus” or “virus from Wuhan”.

However, when trump used this combination, he was not just referring to the campaign to fight everything Chinese inside his country. In this way, he tried to legitimize all possible social and political risks associated with such rhetoric, especially in those conditions when the spread of the virus from China was perceived by many as an obvious and indisputable fact. If we try to get a little deeper into the motives that trump used when talking about the origin of the virus and the dangers associated with it, we will probably note two goals that us President probably pursues: first, to distract public attention from the negative consequences of his 4-year administration, especially in view of the upcoming elections in the face of the danger of the coronavirus, and second, to hide the fact that many of his failures, not so much in domestic as in foreign policy, are related to his overly high self — esteem. Then it becomes clear why he suddenly needed to focus on the” Chinese origin “of the disease, accuse the Chinese side of “falsifying” statistics on the number of cases in China and engage in a” war of words ” with the Chinese political leadership.
Not only as a politician, but also as a showman, Trump is well aware that the war he started will cause a certain part of society to criticize his words and, most importantly, to criticize the tone of his speeches. But on the other hand, it will please those who sympathize with his radicalism and extremism in political views. However, it is interesting to remember that just when trump was praising and even praising the Chinese leadership for effective measures to “localize the coronavirus”, the American security and intelligence services warned him that the data on the number of cases in China is deliberately distorted. That is, trump, of course, knew about this problem, but then deliberately kept silent, because he was waiting for a more appropriate time to declare it, or rather, to take advantage of it.
trump is well aware that the war he started will cause

Now the war that trump previously unleashed against China in the economic sphere (more precisely, in the field of customs tariffs), he has extended to the socio-political sphere, referring to a large number of Chinese in the United States and the presence of influential Chinese businesses in this country. And it seems that he is successful in this war because public attention in the United States itself really seems to have switched to the problem of too much influence of “foreigners” on the state of Affairs in the country. And perhaps if this war against the “Chinese presence” was not being waged now, Trump in Congress would have to account for the lack of measures taken to combat the spread of the coronavirus in the country. But in this situation, Congress, in an attempt to understand what caused the outbreak of “racism” in the President’s speeches, has to “double-check” the accusations that Trump has made against China. That is, to check the accusations that trump made against the PRC and where he claimed that the coronavirus is nothing but a bacteriological weapon that had to be used by the side that was already on the verge of defeat in the economic confrontation.

Thus, the American leadership, led by the” master ” of the White House, now seems more preferable to conduct a political game rather than a real fight against the coronavirus, in order to try to polarize public opinion and split it as much as possible in the short time remaining before the presidential election. And such a strategy just reveals the obvious political weakness of the positions of Trump and his team. And the rampant coronavirus in the country, it seems, does not even leave Trump any other choice. Instead of solving the main problem, Trump is trying to change priorities and switch the problem to the political plane, thereby further complicating his own situation. Now the only question is how far Trump will have time to go, exploiting the “Chinese theme of coronavirus”, and how quickly he will be in a complete deadlock, losing in this political game and the precious time needed to fight against the rampant infection in the country, and as a result — and the votes of voters. After all, it is obvious how the American voter will react to a presidential candidate whose actions (or, rather, inaction) put at risk not only his economic well-being but also his very existence or life itself. ( … ) But for some reason now neither trump nor his advisers are concerned about the consequences of this obviously losing strategy of ” war against Chinese dominance in the country»
