The death toll from coronavirus worldwide exceeded a quarter of a million people. This is evidenced by the data of Johns Hopkins University, which are updated online on the project website.

According to the university, 250,134 people worldwide became victims of the infection.

The largest number of fatal cases recorded in Italy – 29 079 people. The second place in this indicator is the United Kingdom (28 734 people), the third – Spain (25 264 people). More than 20 thousand people also died from the disease in France – there are 24,864 deaths.

At the same time, the total number of people cured of coronavirus exceeded 1.14 million people. Most recovered in the United States (180.3 thousand people), Germany (132.7 thousand people), and Spain (118.9 thousand people).

In total, more than 3.57 million cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in the world over the entire pandemic. Of these, more than 1.17 million cases are in the United States. Spain is in second place in the number of cases (more than 217 thousand cases), Italy is in third place (more than 211 thousand cases).
