In New Zealand, the last patient with coronavirus was cured. The country abolishes restrictions other than opening borders.
New Zealand was the first in the world to abolish the quarantine restrictions imposed due to the coronavirus pandemic. This was announced by Prime Minister Jacinda Arden on Monday, June 8, Reuters.
According to her, all restrictions will be lifted, with the exception of closing the borders.
Arden noted that from 00:00 on Tuesday, the country will move to the first of four levels of national anxiety.
From this day on, all public and private events can take place without restrictions, retail trade and the hotel sector can operate normally, and public transport is fully resumed.
Earlier, the country’s Ministry of Health announced the recovery of the last patient with coronavirus. New cases of the disease have not been recorded for more than two weeks.
The total number of infected people in the country amounted to 1,504 people, of which 1,482 recovered and 22 died.
