The city and provincial authorities have issued announcements over the past 24 hours that the highest level of response has been introduced.
As of Saturday, January 25, China has declared the highest level of response to public health emergencies, already in 25 provinces, cities of central subordination and special administrative areas of China, RIA reports News.
It is noted that the total population in these territories exceeds 1.2 billion people.
The city and provincial authorities issued announcements throughout the day that the decision had been made to introduce the “I” (highest, Ed.) level of response to serious public health emergencies.”
It is indicated that this level of response is declared in the case of particularly major public health emergencies. It provides that the local government reacts to them according to the plan of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China and the centralized headquarters.
Thus, Hubei Province, where the hotbed of the virus is located – the city of Wuhan, was the first to declare the highest level of response. Then the cities of the central subordination of Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing, and Tianjin announced a similar measure.
Specifically, as of Saturday, they were joined by Guangdong, Henan, Hunan, Zhejiang, Anhui, Jiangxi, Sichuan, Shandong, Yunnan, Guizhou, Fujian, Jiangsu, Hainan, Heilongjiang, Hebei, Gansu, Liaoning, Shanxi, Xinjiang Ugur Autonomous Autonomous region, Guangxi Chuang Autonomous Region, with a total population of more than 1.2 billion people.
Later it became known that the highest level of response was introduced in Hong Kong. Five cases have already been confirmed there, all of which have been in Wuhan.
Recall, according to the latest data new type of coronavirus 2019-nCoV in China infected 1,287 people, died 41. Most of the cases were recorded in and around the capital of the central province of Hubei, Wuhan, as well as among those who visited the city.
The virus has spread abroad, including to South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, the United States, France, and Australia.
