Director of psychological thriller Joker Todd Phillips will shoot a sequel to his acclaimed film, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
The filmmaker met with the head of Warner Bros. Pictures Group Toby Emmerich and discussed the filming of the second part of the film. It is also possible that the sequel will show stories about the characters of the DC cinematic universe.
Neither Phillips nor the film studio has yet commented on the Joker sequel.
Joaquin Phoenix is expected to play the title role again.
Note that the film was recognized as the highest-grossing film with an R rating (children under 17 are allowed only with parents). The film is also nominated for an Oscar in 16 nominations.
