The plane crashed when landing near the town of Chuguyev, where the airfield of the military training unit is located. Besides the crew, the plane carried cadets from Kharkiv Air Force University.
As a result of the plane crash, according to the latest information, 22 people were killed, the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
“According to preliminary data, there were 28 people on board, including seven officers and 21 cadets. Unfortunately, 22 people were killed, two survived (one in critical condition), the fate of four is unknown at this moment. We pray for life, we provide emergency assistance’, – wrote the head of the regional state administration Oleksiy Kucher in Telegram. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that he would go to the place of the tragedy. “We urgently create a commission to investigate all the circumstances and causes of the tragedy. The corresponding order was given to the Prime Minister. A search team is already working at the site. Tomorrow I will be in the Kharkiv region”, – wrote Zelensky in his Telegram-channel.
