Incomes from tourism in the world in the first four months of this year fell by $ 195 billion due to a pandemic, according to a UN press release released on Monday, TP reports.
According to her, in January-April, the number of tourists traveling to other countries decreased by 97%. That is, in the first four months of the year, this figure fell by 44%, “which led to a loss of income from international tourism in the amount of about 195 billion dollars.”
According to the organization’s forecasts, in 2020 the number of tourists traveling to other countries may be reduced by 850 million – 1.1 billion. Tourism revenues in the world can fall by 910 billion dollars – 1.2 trillion dollars.
In 2019, the number of tourists traveling to other countries reached 1.5 billion. This figure is 4% higher than in 2018.
