The crew of the tanker Nave Andromeda in the English Channel, which was threatened by stowaway passengers from Nigeria, was not injured, seven suspects were detained, said on Sunday night the British Defense Ministry.
Earlier, Hampshire County police reported to TOP NEWS that stowaway passengers on the Nave Andromeda oil tanker were verbally threatening the crew, after which the crew issued a distress signal to the shore and dropped anchor off the Isle of Wight. The British military was involved in resolving the incident.
“The armed forces took control of the ship, and seven people were detained. The police investigation will continue. Initial data confirm that the crew is safe and sound,” the agency said in a statement posted on Twitter.
