The organizers of the Tokyo Olympics have prepared 150,000 condoms for athletes who will participate in the competition. This was reported by the media, citing the agency France-Presse (AFP).
It is noted that at the previous Games, held in 2014 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the organizers gave athletes 450 thousand condoms. Before the upcoming competitions, athletes are recommended to “avoid unnecessary forms of physical contact,” including shaking hands. On February 3, it was reported that the organizers of the Games decided to ban fans from shouting and singing. Athletes will only be allowed to support them with applause.
In March 2020, it was decided that the Olympics will be postponed for one year and held in the summer of 2021 due to the unfavorable epidemiological situation in the world due to the pandemic coronavirus. The competitions are to begin on July 23 and run until August 8.
