The driver of a truck from Chonburi province of Thailand discovered in his lunch a rare pearl that could be worth tens of millions of dollars. This is reported by Newsflare.
On February 10, 40-year-old Monthian Jansuk (Monthian Jansuk) and his wife Wasana (Wasana) bought at the seafood market an unusual snail, which cost one hundred baht. The seller assured the customers that it was edible, so they decided to take their chances.
During lunch, their son tried to take a bite, but his teeth caught on something hard. It was an orange pearl the size of a coin, weighing seven grams.
After the news about the fisherman from Nakhonsithammarat who had found a similar pearl, Jansook suspected that they too had caught a chalky snail, a gastropod mollusk that produces colorful pearls. Large chalky pearls can be worth up to 10 million baht (25 million rubles).
Jansook plans to take his find to a specialist. If he confirms his assumption, the family will try to sell the pearl. “I’m so glad I bought that snail,” he admits. – That pearl could change my life.”
In early February, it was reported that a poor fisherman in Thailand’s Nakhonsithammarat province had found a shell with an orange chalk pearl on an old buoy. He managed to negotiate a sale with a Chinese businessman willing to pay ten million baht for the find. As the fisherman was celebrating the deal with his friends, he was arrested by the police.
