President’s speech will end four-day congress
President Donald Trump delivers a keynote speech at the Republican National Convention on Thursday, talking about the achievements of his presidency and charting a path for the next four years.
Trump’s speech on the South Lawn of the White House will end a four-day convention in which the president was described as a leader capable of restoring order to the country after racial unrest and reviving the economy after the pandemic.
A salute is expected to take place in Washington after Trump’s speech in which he will formally accept the Republican presidential nomination.
Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson, Trump’s lawyer Rudy Giuliani and religious leader Franklin Graham will also speak at the convention Thursday.
