Trump praises Iranians’ reluctance to stomp U.S. flag

U.S. President Donald Trump praised the Iranians’ refusal to trample the U.S. flag. The post appeared on his Twitter page.

“Wa! Remarkable Iranian protesters refused to attack or in any way denigrate our Great American Flag. They painted him in the street to trample him, and instead, they went around him. Great progress!” the president wrote. However, most of the young people refused to walk on the images.

On the night of January 3, the United States carried out an airstrike near Baghdad airport, killing The General of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Kasem Suleimani. The destruction order was issued personally by Trump. Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif called the actions of the American side a manifestation of terrorism. Washington explained the strike in self-defense, as there had been several attacks on the bases of the international coalition and the American embassy.

In response to the assassination, Iran struck U.S. bases in Iraq on the night of January 8. Amid heightened tensions in the morning of the same day, the Iranian military mistakenly shot down a Ukrainian passenger airliner, killing 176 people. After pleading guilty, demonstrations began in the country because Tehran hid its involvement in the crash of the Ukrainian plane for three days
