US President Donald Trump said he intends to invite Russia to the G7 summit, which he plans to postpone from June to September, the media reported citing reporters from the presidential pool.
“It does not seem to me that the G7 is sufficiently representative of what is happening in the world. This is a very outdated group of countries,” Trump said.
He explained that he would like to see representatives of the Russian Federation, India, South Korea, and Australia at the summit.
Earlier, Donald Trump announced that he intends to hold a G7 summit in a full-time format on June 10-12, despite the coronavirus pandemic. Later, the presidential administration announced that the summit could be postponed to the end of the month.
