US President Donald Trump urged governors to become tougher against protesters against police violence. It is reported by the Associated Press.
“You have to arrest people, you have to track down people, you have to put them in jail for ten years, and you will never see this rubbish again,” the American leader said. Trump added that regional leaders will look like “cretins” if they don’t.
Earlier, Trump decided to send additional federal forces to curb unrest in the country. At the same time, it is not yet known which units will be deployed.
Protests involving riots, vandalism, and police attacks spanned dozens of US cities. The reason was the death of black guard George Floyd in Minneapolis (Minnesota), who died after a gross arrest. During the clashes, two policemen received gunshot wounds, one of whom died. The US authorities said that any skirmishes with the police or threats to law enforcement would be regarded as acts of internal terrorism.
