U.S. President Donald Trump said that closer to polling day will be known record performance of the country’s economy for the third quarter.
“We are doing very well. We are very proud of what is happening in the economy. I think that before the election you will see,” Trump promised, “the third quarter will be at a level that our country has never seen before…”
Experts say Trump’s optimism is apparently partly due to the unemployment data released on Friday. The U.S. unemployment rate fell to 8.4 percent, down from 15 percent in April. At the time of the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, the U.S. unemployment rate was at a record low of 3.5 percent in recent years.
For his part, the economic adviser to the U.S. President Larry Cudlow, commenting on the data on unemployment and economic growth in the country, told reporters that the recovery of the U.S. economy is faster than expected, and it represents a “V-shaped”, that is, a very rapid recovery.
