The former secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine and head of the European Solidarity party, Oleksandr Turchinov, told Censor.net that he was ready to personally storm Crimea if President Volodymyr Zelenskyy decides to attack the peninsula.
“I gave answers to the investigators’ questions about the reasons for not conducting offensive operations in Crimea and, if necessary, I am ready to answer more. It will be much more difficult for the current president to answer these questions. If he suddenly decides to attack, I will be at the forefront of the assault battalion,” quotes the publication of his words. Turchinov also added that Zelensky, after Moscow’s refusal from the Kharkiv agreements, which allowed Russian troops to remain on the peninsula even before the annexation, has no restrictions to “protect the country from aggression and liberate Crimea.”
Earlier in Ukraine, they announced that they had prepared a strategy for the “de-occupation of Crimea”, but the details of this plan were not disclosed.
The Russian authorities have repeatedly stated that the Crimea issue is “finally closed.” In addition, Moscow has warned that the peninsula is well protected, and any attempts at provocation will be immediately stopped.
