Twitter blocked the page of Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zangane. The social network explained his actions not by American sanctions, but by impersonating another person.
The page of Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Zangane was blocked by the social network Twitter today, November 16. This was reported by the Iranian PressTV. The publication assumed that the reason was the American sanctions, which were imposed on the head of the Iranian energy ministry on October 26. Before that, Bidjan Zangane said that restrictions on oil exports deprived Iran of several billions of dollars, which could be used to fight the coronavirus infection.
“The page is blocked for violation of Twitter rules when one person impersonates another,” the social network responded to a request from Bloomberg agency without any clarification.
