Alleged shooter, identified as a Navy orderly, shot dead
Two men were seriously injured Tuesday in a shooting at a commercial technology park in Maryland. The alleged shooter, identified as a Navy orderly, went to a nearby military base, where he was shot and killed, police said.
The incident calls came in at 8:20 am ET. The authorities of the city of Frederick, located 72 km northwest of Washington, are trying to restore the picture of events.
As City Police Chief Jason Lando told reporters on Tuesday morning, active work is underway at both locations.
“So far I can only say one thing: we have confirmed that there was only one shooter. There is no threat to society, ”he said.
Upon receiving the call, Landau said police arrived at the two-story commercial Riverside technopark, where they found two injured men with gunshot wounds.
Both victims were hospitalized and in critical condition.
As Lando said, then the alleged shooter went to the Fort Detrick military base, located about 6 km from the technopark. There he was shot by servicemen.
The Navy tweeted the gunner as an orderly at a naval hospital. The name of the suspect has not yet been announced.
