Crew members were able to escape
A U.S. Navy E-2 Hawkeye long-range radar detection aircraft crashed Monday off the coast of Virginia, and four crew members were able to escape. This was announced by U.S. Navy spokesman Patrick Gordon.

“E-2 crashed at about 16:05 (23:05 GMT Monday),” he said. “Two pilots and two crew members safely left the aircraft.”

The representative explained that the E-2 was on a training flight near a U.S. military base in Norfolk, Virginia. He added that the crew members were not “seriously injured.”

An investigation into the cause of the crash is underway.
