U.S. opposition to participation of “outsiders” in Karabakh dispute

American diplomacy during contacts with the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan called on them to stop fighting in Nagorno-Karabakh. This was stated by US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo in an interview with Fox News on Thursday.

“We call for a ceasefire. We want both sides to reverse. We talked to the leaders of both countries and asked them to do so,” Pompeo said.
He also stressed that the U.S. believes “outsiders should stay away,” and “having third parties, other countries that join them, will only make the problem worse.
