The U.S. promised to impose new sanctions against Russia

The U.S. is preparing to impose new anti-Russian sanctions “within weeks,” White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki told reporters.
“Within weeks, not months,” Psaki said in response to a question about when new restrictive measures against Moscow are expected.
She stressed that the Russian issue “includes several components,” and listed Moscow’s alleged “interference” in the election and the hacking attack, as well as alleged bounties for the heads of U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan. The administration is continuing to analyze all of these aspects, she said.
Russian authorities have previously denied involvement in the allegations on all of these counts.
